Auditions

The California Symphony is an equal opportunity employer.

Auditions for 2007-2008 have been completed this season.  Auditions to be held in the 2008-2009 Season will be announced in September, 2008.

To apply for a posted audition:

  •      send a one-page résumé by mail
  •      Include a deposit of $25 (refundable) - checks made out to California Symphony

Mail to: Orchestra Personnel Manager, California Symphony, 877 Ygnacio Valley Road, Suite 200, Walnut Creek, CA 94596.

        Please note a limited number of applicants will be chosen to audition and will   be informed of the audition repertoire.  Employment will commence upon the successful candidate's availability and the California Symphony's schedule.

Internal Bass Auditions (for current, tenured California Symphony Bass players only) for Principal and Assistant Principal Bass will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2008.  The repertoire list is posted below and the excerpts can be downloaded.
